  38.     I recentely got a copy of the game R-type, this program has some heavy
  39. copy protection on it and makes my drive sound as though it is about to fall
  40. apart.  I have been playing this game a lot and it acesses the disk constently
  41. while playing.  After a week my old drive(4 years) is giving me all types of
  42. trouble,programs give me tos error #35, or the computer says data is bad.
  43.     Could this program have caused all this trouble I've been having?

  98. sample editor that will work on samples such as play.ttp and newbell
  99. use?   If so, where can I find it (terminator,etc)?

  113. Version 1.1 of play.arc is available at terminator (35.1.33.8).  This
  114. version replaces the previous version posted and fixes a few bugs.
  115. Additionally, playback speeds up to 21kHz now work, so most samples
  116. recored at 22kHz sound OK.

  118. I replaced the old play.arc with the new one, so
  119.  
  120.         terminator:atari/music/samples/play.arc
  121.  
  122. now contains version 1.1.

  155. This error does not occur on my TOS 1.4 (official german) when using the
  156. GEMDOS calls.
  157. Dcreate returns the correct error number in this case.
  158. Do you use the GEMDOS calls directly or through an cli? In the latter case
  159. the cli may cause the errorneous behaviour.

  164. GEMDOS has not to be reentrant for such a patch (if the patch is really
  165. necessary for you). If you catch Trap 1 and wait there for Dcreate, you
  166. can directly call GEMDOS for Fsfirst and then for Dcreate since your trap
  167. handler is called before GEMDOS is entered.
  168. Either you use the normal Trap 1 for Fsfirst and lock your trap handler
  169. against recursiv invocation, or you simulate a trap (push SR and return
  170. address onto the stack).

  181. After reading the Atari ST Internals Book it states that the main serial
  182. port (which is tied to the MFP68901) can handle synchronouse serial
  183. communications however it does not expand on this.   Can anyone tell me
  184. if the ST can therefore support both bit synchronous (eg HDLC) or just
  185. byte synchronous transmission or just the latter?

  206. How does one go about uncompressing them?
